While Expressions cannot manipulate outside information like files or assets within your project panel, they are able to create and read values that are then applied to the property itself. Animations like having a layer automatically fade in or out on it's own without you having to change keyframes every time. Expressions are bits of code that can be applied to any After Effects layer property that you can keyframe.Įxpressions are for creating automated animation without the use of keyframes.
